Everyone should have the anxiety about the safety of the city and the building where he lives under earthquake and tsunami. In order to achieve disaster risk reduction and reduce the anxiety, researchers and engineers must send correct information and knowledge to society about the safety.
Earthquake Disaster Engineering Research Laboratory will conduct research and development in earthquake disaster mitigation for cities and buildings and disseminate the knowledge to society. In addition, we will promote international cooperation to contribute disaster mitigation research not only in Japan but around the world.

Eng degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2000 and PhD degree in High Voltage Engineering (2006) from The Universiti of Manchester in UK. Currently, he is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University Putra Malaysia. His research interests include high voltage engineering, insulation coordination. lightning protection, EMC/EMI, kerauna-medicine and power system transients. His research focuses on investigating the mechanisms and issues of Technology and Knowledge Transfer (TKT). He uses qualitative, quantitative and computational model to comprehend its complexity. He expect to contribute to the literature of TKT and to evaluate its impact on an organization’s performance. He studies two topics: (1) Challenges and Issues. He studies factors related to conflicting logic; personalisation and codification of knowledge; the role of Information and Communication Technologies; barriers and drivers; and data-driven knowledge.
